Ottawa Urban Wild Tours

Update for 2013: There will be no tours for the 2013 season. We have decided to take a break for the summer and we will revisit how to proceed with the tours later this year.

Monthly Weekend Urban Nature Tours in Ottawa’s neighborhoods

Discover hidden corners of our neighborhoods and become acquainted with the wonders of nature in the city.

As we rush around in our busy lives, we may be unaware of the wondrous variety of flora and fauna in the city. Take an afternoon to slow down and see what is right down the street, in an empty lot or even in our backyards. Learn how interconnected we are to many of the urban dwellers with no fixed address and appreciate all the bounty that can be found growing right under our noses!

Transition Ottawa will be inviting knowledgeable naturalists and field specialists to lead tours in the city. Learn about native flora and fauna by joining us at the monthly specified location.

Tours will be 60 to 90 minutes with some time at the end for question and/or discussion. Tours are free of charge.

Please keep in mind that this is a grassroots, volunteer-organized event. As such, we cannot assume any responsibility or liability for any personal injuries, discomfort or loss for any of the attendees that might occur during this event. Attendees of these tours are responsible for the safety of themselves and all members of their families.

All ages welcome (unless otherwise noted) - children must be accompanied by an adult.

Organized by Transition Ottawa’s Incubator Group.
